The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures – Miniatures!

We did a separate post on the “toy” side of the museum, where you can read more about the museum and its founding. This post just features some of the many amazing miniatures you can see on a visit! Note: many items in this portion were not labeled in the museum; I gave credit below where I could. Keep in mind that the objects seen in these photos are tiny!

Violin Maker’s Shop, 1982, Foster Tracy.
On the left: Chester County Spice Cabinet, 2000. To the right is an “exploded view” (2007), showing the many components that were assembled to make the whole. Both by William R. Robertson. The cabinet even contains a secret compartment!
Chippendale Chairs, 1993, Emily Good.
English Cotswold Cottage, 1940 with updating in 1946, Narcissa Niblack Thorne – we had previously seen a display of several of her pieces at the Knoxville Museum of Art.
It’s a Frank Lloyd Wight! William Martin Breakfast Room, 1902. Allison Ashby and Steve Jedd.
Gerut Rynders.
The cabinet is a miniature dollhouse – like, it’s a miniature miniature! Baroque Baby House, 2003, Nell Corkin (interior) and Gilbert Mena (cabinet).
