Museum of Miniature Houses and Other Collections

We seem to have found a new interest in miniatures, as we’ve already visited a few museums and exhibits, but still are happy to visit more. They’re just so fascinating!

This time it was the Museum of Miniature Houses and Other Collections in Carmel, Indiana, which opened in 1993. It’s a small museum, and we found the collection mixed. Some items were quite amazing, and others seemed a bit amateurish, but we still enjoyed ourselves, nonetheless.

The attention to detail in some of the pieces is nothing short of astounding!

Manoir Hypotheque, which has 120 dolls and 22 rooms.  This piece is astounding (to me) for not just the interior, but notice how much detail is on the exterior – all the way down to the bottom of the cliff the house sits on! The cover photo to this post is a close-up of the topiary garden.
