I had read to expect two-to-three hours to experience the Columbus Museum of Art, and I had a decent list of things we were hoping to see. Imagine my surprise when we were done in less than an hour.
Almost everything we were interested in was in one gallery, and though we usually wander and find lots more of interest, that didn’t happen on our wandering here.
The museum was formed back in 1878, so it’s had plenty of time to amass a nice collection. While there were four Monets, three Renoirs, and a handful of others on our hit list, none had that “wow” factor one likes to see. I didn’t even like any of the Renoirs, in fact.
Most of the current exhibits were also not of particular interest to us, though we still took a look.
We were just in time to see their annual celebration of LEGO, in collaboration with the Ohio LEGO User’s Group (OhioLUG), where we were able to “experience an extraordinary model of Columbus reimagined with familiar landmarks and enchanting new additions.”
The exhibit was created by 40 artists using more than one million bricks!
