The Chrysler Museum of Art Glass Collection

I wrote about our visit to the Chrysler Museum of Art and referenced their glass collection in this post, if you would like some additional details. Otherwise, enjoy some amazing glass!

The cover photo is a serving spoon and fork attributed to Thomas Webb & Sons, c. 1890-1900.

Dafna Kaffeman, Tactual Stimulation, 2007.
New England Glass Co, Compote, c. 1850-1860. How about the shadow it casts?
Clara Driscoll, designer; Tiffany Glass & Decorating Co., Wisteria Lamp, c. 1901.
Tiffany Studios, Pond Lily Library Lamp, c. 1905.
Tiffany Studios, Daffodil Library Lamp and Dragonfly Light Screen, c. 1905.
Tiffany Studios, Seascape Window, c. 1910.
Tiffany Studios, Woman in a Pergola with Wisteria, c. 1910-1914.
Epergne, c. 1890. (It’s very different from the three-foot tall silver epergne we saw at the Sir George-Étienne Cartier National Historic Site in Montreal.)
This photo suggests a way to use your Epergne.
Thomas Webb & Sons, Vase, c. 1900.
John Le Farge, Fire Screen, c. 1883. I can only imagine the colors popping with a fire aglow behind it!
This was on display in the glass studio, but I couldn’t figure out who made it (and the Chrysler Museum of Art search function is very broken), but given Doug’s affinity for burgers, there’s no way we couldn’t include this!
Fratelli Toso, Covered Teapot, c. 1910.
Quezal Art Glass & Decorating Co., Jack-in-the-Pulpit Vase, early 1900s.
Cristallerie de Clichy, Paperweight, c. 1845-1855.
Brocard et Fils, Ornaments, c. 1884.
Hobbs, Brockunier & Co., Pitcher, c. 1885.
Mount Washington Glass Co, Royal Flemish Covered Jug, 1890s and Royal Flemish Covered Jar, c. 1894.

  1. I love this post! Beautiful stuff… I especially like the handles on the spoon & fork cover photo, and the paperweight is stunning! Reminds me of the one you gave me many years ago and I see on my desk every day… love it!
